Q. What is Our Neighborhood Works?

A. We’re a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, made up of diverse and lively people who believe we can enrich the quality of life in the Camden Neighborhood by fostering community ideas and initiatives while serving as a fiscal agent.

Q. What is a fiscal agent?

A. Many potential funders will not support a project unless the group has a tax-exempt status.  That’s where we come in.  As a fiscal agent we would receive project money directly from the funder, pay the bills and keep the books.  Without a 501(c)3 fiscal agent many valuable programs/ideas wouldn’t be able to move forward, or in some cases, even exist.

Q. So you’re a group of accountants?

A: Our board members have accounting experience and much more. We welcome people on the board from all walks of life who believe in preserving and developing the resources constantly evolving on the north side.
